For my classic example I've chosen Bruce Sterling's The Hacker Crackdown. I've chosen it, both because it illustrative of the print paradigm, and because I might as well give you a good read to salt away in your hot list. I do recommend you read it at some point, because it has some very important things to say on the issue of electronic freedom and the dangerous ignorance of the law enforcement authorities.
The smallest chunk is the section, and both the table of content and the clickable map are used to go from section to section. Whoever did the markup did not take the opportunity to create hypertext threads through this book, or link to other documents or related resources; though there is plenty out there.
